I have been wanting to photograph at Anran at Tidwell Farm, South Devon, for ages, so I was delighted when Lucy & Rob got in touch with me and asked me to shoot their wedding for them.
On getting to know them both I was sure that this was going to be no ordinary wedding. I sensed the boho vibes from Lucy and the love and fun that came out of Rob. When I saw them on the day of the wedding, Lucy gave me a big hug and Rob offered me a beer. It was about 10.30 and boiling hot. Happy days.
Lucy & Rob were in two minds about where to hold their ceremony, outside the house in the orchard or down by the lake. They went with the lake which meant Lucy’s Dad had to get crafty and knock up a structure to hold some amazing florals from The Good Florist.
The ceremony was full of smiles and involved the rings being passed around all the guest so they could give them their own individual blessing, so sweet.
After champagne and funny and touching speeches in the courtyard I took Rob and Lucy around the farm and wasn’t disappointed with locations for their portraits.
Their wedding breakfast was held in the incredible glass house at Anran which was decorated perfectly with tasteful touches, a gorgeous cake and a DIY Eton mess station.
As the night went on several impromptu dance floors were established in the glass house before Lu & Rob officially took took the floor for their first dance….quite the energetic jig.
A sparkler guard of honour led to the party hut, complete with chandelier where the beats got funky as well as the moves. A dream for me to photograph with all the different textures and colours on show.
I hope you enjoy this Anran wedding as much as I did. I can’t wait to go back again someday.
