As a food lover I couldn’t turn down the chance to be involved with this River Cottage HQ Wedding shoot.
The weather was just the right mix of soft light and Devon drizzle (you never know what you are going to get in these parts), I got to meet with some amazing creative talents and we shot some beautiful images.
The venue itself is a beautiful mash up of country cottage and traditional English farmhouse. It’s the sort of house that makes my heart ache a little bit because I would love to live in a house like that. If you’re having an intimate wedding then the small dining room off the kitchen of the house is so atmospheric that you would be able to create the best vibe in there. If you have plans for something bigger then there are bigger dining rooms or garden spaces for you to spread out and really enjoy the beautiful views of Devon and the kitchen gardens.
The benefits of doing a shoot like this as a photographer are that you get the time to work on things that you want to experiment with. Whether that be a different lens, some film cameras (as I did in this case) or some new ways of working with a couple to get them to open up and be close to each other without over directing. It’s like doing our training rides before taking on a big cycling event.
Here is the collection of images I came home with. Enjoy.
